  • What is Microblading?
Microblading is a cosmetic tattooing technique used to create the appearance of fuller, more defined eyebrows. It involves using a manual handheld tool with a row of tiny needles to deposit pigment under the skin in thin, hair-like strokes. The result is a natural-looking, semi-permanent eyebrow that can last up to two years. Many people opt for microblading to save time in their daily makeup routine or as a solution to sparse or uneven eyebrows.
  • What are Combo 3D Brows?
Microblading alone may not always be sufficient, and this is where 3D Combo Brows come in. The combination of microblading strokes and shading creates a beautiful blend of both techniques, particularly ideal for clients with sparse, over-plucked brows who desire a fuller look. Our recommendation would be to opt for 3D Combo Brows for a more voluminous appearance. During your consultation, you can discuss with our expert to finalize your decision, and even add the 3D Combo Brows to your service.
  • How long does the procedure take?
Typically, the Microblading process lasts around 2.5 hours. It's important to note that this process cannot be rushed, so please plan to spend at least 3 hours in our studio. For Combo 3D Brows, the process may take 3-4 hours. If you are a client with no hair due to Alopecia, please contact our coordinator as we have a separate appointment reserved for this procedure that may take an average of 4-5 hours. It's crucial not to rush this process.
  • What is the procedure process like?
When you arrive for the microblading process, we will first apply a 30-minute numbing treatment for your comfort. During this time, you will also fill out necessary consent forms. Once the numbing is complete, the artist will shape your brows and discuss options with you. You are also encouraged to bring in photos of eyebrow shapes you like. The artist will work with you to create a customized brow shape that meets your approval before the microblading session begins.
  • How long does it last?
It is necessary to consider personal factors like skin type and lifestyle when contemplating microblading outcomes. Nonetheless, it's comforting to learn that microblading is a low-maintenance choice for boosting eyebrows. Moreover, the option to schedule touch-ups as necessary makes maintenance simple. Overall, it seems like microblading can offer reliable, permanent results for those wanting to enhance their eyebrow look. Typically, microblading annual touch ups require maintenance every 1.5 to 2 years, on average.
  • What pigments do we use?
Erica Kovitz exclusively uses the purest Microblading pigments available. These pigments are entirely vegan and metal-free, sourced from Germany, and contain only low levels of metals. This super pigment revolutionizes the industry's standards with its exceptional qualities, including unparalleled stability and cleanliness. It is non-magnetized, contains almost PURE formula that does not separate into components or leave an oily residue. Its innovative formula blends seamlessly with human organisms, ensuring a true-to-color appearance even on oily skin. Additionally, it reduces healing time and never bleeds or heals red.
  • Do I need a consultation?
Each appointment is scheduled for a duration of 3+ hours, allowing ample time for our skilled artists to address client concerns, discuss the brow design, and answer any questions regarding the procedure. Our talented team is experienced in working with all types of brow shapes and designs, and can easily accommodate clients without hair. As our services are in high demand, we do not offer consultations unless individuals have alopecia or scarring that must be assessed prior to the procedure. To prepare for your appointment, you will need to complete a brow submission form and upload pictures so that our artists can review and better understand your brow goals as well as the length of the procedure. We recommend familiarizing yourself with our FAQ section to learn more about the microblading process.
  • Does Microblading Hurt?
Our numbing cream, which is Lido/Benz/Tetr 20% and of medical grade, helps to reduce pain during the microblading process to a low level of 2 out of 10. However, please note that everyone has a different pain threshold, which can be affected by various factors, including menstrual cycles. We advise sensitive clients to avoid microblading during their menstrual cycle. That being said, if you are nervous or afraid of the pain, there's no need to be!
  • Who is NOT a good candidate for microblading?
-Pregnant or breastfeeding: It's best to avoid getting microblading done during this time as there may be potential risks to the baby or mother. -Diabetic, HIV, Hepatitis: These conditions may affect healing and increase the risk of infection, so it's important to inform the artist and get advice from a doctor before getting microblading done. -Heart conditions: Microblading is considered a safe procedure, but if someone has a heart condition or is taking heart medications, it's advised to get approval from a doctor before proceeding. -Taking thyroid medications: Thyroid medications can affect the retention of the pigment, so it's important to inform the artist and make any necessary adjustments to the process. -Botox within 2 week period: It's advised to wait at least 2 weeks before getting microblading done after Botox to avoid any potential complications. -Prone to seizures: It's advised to get approval from a doctor before getting microblading done if someone is prone to seizures. -Undergoing chemotherapy: Chemotherapy can affect healing and increase the risk of infection, so it's important to inform the artist and get approval from a doctor before getting microblading done. -Prone to keloid scarring: Microblading can cause scarring, so it's important to inform the artist and get advice from a doctor to avoid any potential complications. -Has had previous microblading: It's important to inform the artist about any previous microblading and get their approval before proceeding to avoid any potential complications.
  • How long is the healing process?
The outcome of the procedure is influenced by your health and age. The artist will furnish you with printed instructions and a healing balm. It is advisable to wash your brows every day. We do not recommend dry healing. Avoid scheduling important events during the initial week, and you can resume wearing brow makeup after 7-10 business days if necessary. It can take up to 25-35 days for the skin to appear fully pigmented. After the first few days of microblading, your brows may appear up to 40% darker. Following the scabbing period, you will experience the "milky effect," which will make it seem as if the pigment has entirely disappeared. The skin will continue to recover for the following three weeks, and the pigment will be pulled back up to the surface. A 6-12 week touch-up appointment is recommended for optimal results.
  • How to prepare for microblading?
Before the procedure, avoid consuming fish oils for a week. On the day of the procedure, refrain from taking ibuprofen or blood thinners unless approved by a physician. It is not advisable to engage in workouts or exercise on the morning of the procedure. Hypersensitivity can be more pronounced if microblading is done during menstruation. To prevent sneezing and congestion during the procedure, taking an antihistamine is advised for those prone to allergies. Furthermore, it is suggested to limit coffee intake on the day of the procedure.
  • Is the perfecting touch up necessary?
It's often recommended to have a touch up to perfect the look, although it's not mandatory. Microblading is a two-step process involving creating the shape in the first session and adding detail and density in the touch-up session. The perfecting touch-up session can correct any loss of strokes or color, providing the brows with more life and fullness. If you are satisfied with the results after the first session, there is no need for a touch-up.
  • What are some of the risks involved with microblading & permanent makeup.
Semi-permanent make-up can come with a range of risks and results, both known and unknown. These may include infections, scarring, patchy or inconsistent coloring, as well as fading or spreading of the ink. Additionally, factors such as a client's skin tone and general health can impact the color of the pigment. For these reasons, it is essential to carefully observe after-care instructions as part of the procedure process.
  • What if I don't like my Microblading ?
Fortunately, the microblading procedure can be reversed on the same day in case you are dissatisfied with the outcome. Although it is rare for this to happen, it is reassuring to be aware that the pigment can be dissolved.
